As long as we live in this world, times of hardship and discouragement will occasionally catch up with us.  That's why finding your place at Hollinger's Island Baptist Church can and will make a wonderful difference in your life.  Since 1936 one recurring theme has held the church true to its calling: to provide the comfort, the refuge, and the Christ-centered encouragement families and individuals must have to survive during times of hardship, loss and personal struggle.  That theme is..."the love of God lived out through His people."

Welcome

Connor Donavan, his wife Julie

and children, Robert and Abigail!

Hello! I hope that this note finds you well.  I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself, my name is Connor Donavan and I am the new pastor at Hollinger’s Island Baptist Church.  My wonderfully brilliant wife (Julie) and I have two beautiful children (Robert and Abigail).  We moved to Mobile from Chelsea, Alabama (just outside of Birmingham).
I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 7 and felt God call me into vocational ministry at the age of 17.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion: Bible from Oklahoma Baptist University. In 2015 I moved to Birmingham to attend Beeson Divinity School, where I graduated with a Master of Divinity.  I met Julie at Beeson where she also was studying and we fell in love and got married.
We are extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful family at HIBC.  My hope and prayer for our church is that we will seek to know the Lord better together and that through that we will be able to worship Him in the way that He deserves to be worshipped.  I pray that we will, as a body of believers, follow Paul’s proclamation in Romans 1:16 and be unashamed of the Gospel!
